When you’re on a job and the shop phone rings, what happens to that call?
Towing, auto repair, car lots, heating and cooling, plumbing. The call comes in while both hands are busy. Most of the time it goes to voicemail, and most of the time the caller rings the next shop on the list instead of leaving one.
There are two ways to stop losing those calls. You can run either one on its own.
Text-back, from your own number.
When you cannot pick up, the caller gets a text from your own number within a minute, asking what they need. Their reply comes to your phone and you answer it yourself, in your own words.
- Your number does not change.
- Your line forwards only when you do not answer. Pick up and nothing happens.
- You are the one who replies. Nothing is sent to your customer in your name without you writing it.
The phone answered.
An automated assistant picks up. It tells the caller straight away that it is an automated assistant, gets what they need and where they are, puts anything urgent straight through to your cell, and texts you after every call.
It goes live only after you sign off
We set it up on your line and run about fifteen test calls through it with you listening. You hear exactly what a customer would hear. It starts taking real calls when you say the wording is right, and not before.
Four steps, and you can stop at any of them.
-
A short visit or call
Fifteen or twenty minutes. What your phone does today, how often you miss calls, and which of the two is worth doing.
-
Setup on your line
Done on our side. Your number stays yours and your forwarding stays off until you ask for it.
-
The test calls
About fifteen, with you listening to each one, until the wording is what you would say.
-
You decide
Go live, change it, or walk away. Nothing answers a real customer before you have heard it.
What it will not do.
- It will not pretend to be a person. It says it is an automated assistant, on every call, before anything else.
- It will not change your number. The number on your truck and your cards stays the number that rings.
Connor, in Coloma.
This is a one-person business. I am in Coloma, I build these systems myself, and I am the person who answers when you call the number below. If something breaks at seven in the morning you are not filing a ticket with a company in another state, you are texting the person who set it up. I would rather drive out and see how your phone actually gets answered than guess at it over email.
Worth a conversation?
Call, or pick a time. Either way you get me, and there is nothing to sign.
